Toxic Chemicals Transform Our DNA
Monday, May 08, 2006
Our DNA is under constant attack by environmental agents including toxic chemicals which scientists are discovering causes nucleobases in DNA to undergo a transformation. Genomics is the study of genes over time as a dynamic system to determine how they interact and influence biological pathways. In contrast to genetics which only looks at single genes individually. This new field of science provides great potential for establishing particular "genetic fingerprints" of diseases caused by various toxins.
