Benzene in Soft Drinks Lawsuits Filed in the U.S.

Mary Beckman of the Los Angeles Times in her April 24, 2006 article, "Soft drink, with a twist of benzene?" reported on two class action lawsuits filed in Massachusetts and Florida against two beverage companies for high levels of benzene in their soft drinks. The simple solution is to stop adding ascorbic acid. Just straight sugar water with no nutritional value. At least it won't contain a cancer causing chemical.
