Gregory Coolidge

Greg Coolidge is a Senior Associate who joined the firm as an attorney in December 2000. Mr. Coolidge has litigated over fifty toxic injury cases during his career with the firm, including cases concerning individuals suffering from interstitial lung diseases, asthma, lung cancer, leukemia, Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, and other diseases caused by exposures to toxic chemical products. Mr. Coolidge is a member of the California Bar, and the federal Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Coolidge has also successfully litigated several cases before the California Court of Appeal, including: Hernandez v. Superior Court (2003) 112 Cal.App.4th 285 (published) (A trial court, even in an action designated as complex litigation, is not permitted to order a plaintiff as part of a case management order or otherwise to disclose the opinions of his experts prior to the simaltaneous designation and depositions of these experts, because such constitutes a violation of the attorney work product privilege and C.C.P. Section 2034); Tellez-Cordova v. Campbell Hausfeld (2004) 129 Cal.App.4th 577 (published) (The component part defense does not apply to failure to warn or design defect causes of action asserted against the manufacturers or distributors of machines, such as power saws and grinders, which emit or release toxic substances during the intended and foreseeable uses of the machines).

Mr. Coolidge received a degree in Political Science from California State University, Long Beach, in 1992, and did graduate studies at the University of California, Riverside, where he received an M.A. in Political Science and completed courses for a Ph.D. in Political Science in 1996. During this period he was a recipient of three Graduate Council Fellowships.

Mr. Coolidge received a J.D. from Southwestern University School of Law in May, 2000, graduating magna cum laude. While attending law school, he had numerous accomplishments, including: Served as Editor-in-Chief of Law Review; Blue Book Award for Outstanding Editing; Published an article entitled "Worshipping a Sacred Cow: Curran v. Mount Diablo Council of the Boy Scouts of America, "Southwestern University Law Review, Vol. 2, 1999; Finished as Second Place Oralist and Finalist Writer in Southwestern University's Moot Court Competition; Member of Semi-Finalist Southwestern team in the John Marshall School of Law Moot Court Competition; Received multiple academic awards, including CALI Excellence for the Future Awards in the following categories: Torts, Legal Research and Writing, Alternative Disput Resolution, and Foundation of Torts; and Awarded Dean's Merit Scholarship. During the Summer of 1998, Mr. Coolidge was a law clerk for Bet Tzedek Legal Services in Los Angeles, and during the Summer of 1999 he served as a law clerk to the Honorable Robert M. Takasugi of the United States District Court.
